People Often Reach Out to Me When…
- A major change in work, relationships, parenting, health, faith, identity, or direction has left them feeling unsteady, overwhelmed, or unsure of what comes next.
- They are navigating a transition that may be necessary or even wanted, but still feels stressful, disorienting, or difficult to trust.
- Burnout, loss, deconstruction, or shifting roles have disrupted the routines and identities that used to make life feel more organized.
- They feel stuck between who they have been and who they are becoming, and want space to sort through that without forcing quick answers.
- They want support clarifying their values, making grounded decisions, and moving through change with more steadiness and self-trust.
Hi. I'm Nick.
LMHC, CASAC-2

Hi, I’m Nick.
I’m a licensed mental health counselor in New York (LMHC, CASAC-2) and I work primarily with adults navigating anxiety, relationship difficulties, questions of identity and meaning, spiritual or religious struggles, and substance use concerns.
My approach is grounded in psychodynamic and narrative therapy. In our work together, we explore the patterns, experiences, and personal stories that shape how you see yourself and your relationships, with the goal of developing greater clarity, freedom, and direction in your life.
I bring nearly two decades of experience walking alongside people through complex personal challenges. My style is thoughtful, direct, and collaborative. While therapy often involves serious reflection, I also make room for humor. Many clients find that being able to laugh at times helps create perspective and makes difficult conversations easier to approach.
If you’re considering therapy, you’re welcome to schedule a free 15-minute consultation to see whether working together feels like a good fit.
How do I get started?
1. Schedule a free consultation
If you are carrying change that feels heavier than it “should,” reaching out does not mean you are weak at coping. It may mean you want support that helps you move with more steadiness and less self-judgment.
2. Meet for your first session
You do not need to have a clear plan, a complete explanation, or a confident sense of what comes next. We can start with what feels unsettled right now, what has changed, what feels difficult to trust, and what you are trying to understand about yourself in this season.
3. Work toward meaningful change
Life transitions therapy often involves slowing the process down enough to understand what the change is actually bringing up. That can include grief, relief, self-doubt, anger, shame, longing, or a loss of direction. Instead of forcing clarity too quickly, therapy can help you build a steadier way of relating to uncertainty.
FAQ
Can therapy help if I do not even know what the main issue is?
Yes. Many people start therapy during a transition because they feel unsettled but do not yet have a clean explanation. That is a very workable place to begin.
What if the transition is positive but still hard?
That is common. Even wanted change can bring grief, uncertainty, and identity disruption. Therapy can help you hold the mixed reality without judging yourself for it.
Does this kind of therapy overlap with anxiety work?
Often, yes. Transitions frequently activate anxiety, overthinking, self-doubt, and perfectionism. Therapy can work with those patterns together.
How Therapy Can Help
Life transition therapy can help you make sense of the gap between what life used to be and what life is becoming. Change can unsettle more than your schedule or circumstances. It can affect your identity, relationships, confidence, routines, and sense of what is still reliable. Therapy gives you space to sort through that disruption without needing to rush into a polished answer.
This work can also help you clarify what matters now, notice what no longer fits, and rebuild trust in your ability to make grounded decisions. The goal is not to force a sense of certainty. It is to help you move through change with more honesty, steadiness, and connection to yourself.
